Located in the 14,000-foot peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Southern Colorado…
The Crestone Retreat Center offers unique solo and group retreats throughout the year. Known for its remote and beautiful location, this Retreat Center offers guests a one-of-a-kind experience. The 240-acres of Pinon Pine and Juniper forest that surround the Center provide both a beautiful landscape and offer guests the seclusion they might be seeking while on a spiritual journey of self-discovery.
Onsite guests will find private retreat cabins as well as rooms available in the Guest House for those seeking personal, meditative, wilderness or writing retreats. These can be obtained year-round for multiple lengths of stay. Guests at the retreat cabins have access to the Zen kitchen, which prepares three vegetarian meals each day. They are also invited to join the monastic community for daily meditation.
Group retreats take place from mid-July through mid-September. During these sessions, guests can expect to have daily access to meditation, yoga, music, dance, body work, and writing and psychotherapy groups. The group retreats are often booked through outside agencies who then make the retreats available to those interested in taking part at Crestone.
In addition to the individual and group retreats,
There are Zen-based retreats available at the Center. If you are interested in taking part in one of these retreats, you can join in the daily practice as a student or take part in one of the structured programs. There is a calendar of events available on their website that outlines each of the retreats and classes available throughout the year.
The Center also hosts a number of special events throughout the year. Upcoming events include a Weekend Sitting with Zenju Randall Fox that is to take place July 1st-4th. The weekend sitting is a two-and-a-half day meditation intensive that includes an opening dinner on Friday, followed by an evening meditation. All day Saturday-Monday morning is to be dedicated to an intensive practice including formal tea and a Dharma Talk by the guest speaker.
